Literacy Activities: Enhance the Learning
Look to the expanded side menu for customized activities for each Read-TV story!
If your child is interacting with the “Now It’s Your Turn!” stories let them explore. Don’t worry if they aren’t telling the story word for word. Storytelling in any form is an advanced literacy behavior.
Some activity suggestions are discussions. The give and take of discussion about a variety of subjects introduces children to new vocabulary, gives them a chance to try out new words in context and gives them a time when they feel really listened too.
Children love repetition so stick with favorite activities before moving onto a new one. Not all activities are suited for every age – experiment and most importantly have fun!
